The study looked at how people in Jiangsu province use natural resources from 1990 to 2006. They found that each person used more resources than the land could handle, causing an ongoing imbalance. Specifically, they used a lot of fossil energy, farmland, and pasture land. Although their resource use was higher than the country's average, it was lower than the global average. This suggests that the current way the province uses resources is not sustainable and their environment is at risk. The study identifies the problem and suggests ways to make resource use more balanced for a better future.
