The study looked at how wastewater from Jiaozhou affects water quality in the nearby sea. They used computer models to predict water quality in normal and accident scenarios at a treatment plant. Results showed that under normal conditions, water quality near the river mouth was mostly okay, but during accidents, more areas had poor water quality. To improve water quality, the treatment plant needs to be more reliable.
