The study looked at how different farming practices affect phosphorus runoff into Taihu Lake. They found that traditional farming methods can lead to high levels of phosphorus in runoff, which contributes to water pollution. By using techniques like covering the soil and placing fertilizer deep in the ground, phosphorus runoff can be reduced by up to 90.5%. This can help protect the lake's ecosystem and the health of people living in the area.
