Decrease in Mt. Qomolangma evaporation linked to changing climate factors.
The study analyzed evaporation changes near Mt. Qomolangma in China from 1971 to 2006. The main findings are: 1) Annual evaporation decreased slightly, with the most decline in spring. 2) Evaporation was higher in the 1990s and lower in the 1980s. 3) Sunshine duration and wind speed decreased, while relative humidity and temperature increased. 4) The decrease in evaporation was mainly due to less sunshine and wind, and higher humidity.
