They found that the middle reaches of the Yangtze River were known for coppite. Through archaeological evidence, it was confirmed that the coppite was indeed used during the Shang dynasty, possibly linked to the migration of the Yin people. The technology used for exploiting the coppite not only led to the production of large amounts of bronze but also helped in the rapid development of bronze culture in that region.
