New model predicts soil carbon changes in farmland with high accuracy.
A model was created to predict how soil carbon changes in farmland in Eastern China. The model was tested using data from real-life experiments and showed a strong correlation with actual observations. The study found that temperature has the biggest impact on soil carbon levels, while soil clay content has the least effect. Other important factors include the amount of organic carbon added, soil pH, initial organic matter levels, precipitation, and soil clay.
