The article discusses the challenges and solutions for implementing natural forest protection in Guizhou's collective forest areas. The researchers studied three counties and found that implementing this protection can have short-term negative effects on the local economy. To address this, they suggest managing forests based on their types, focusing on younger forests, integrating protection with economic development and ecosystem balance, boosting tourism, adjusting the forestry structure, and setting up ecological compensation.
