Newly Discovered Sedimentary Deposits Hold Key to Hidden Oil Reserves!
The study examined different types of sedimentary layers in the lower part of the Qingshankou Formation in the Talin Hiag region. They found that the area contains lake deposits and fan deposits, with the fan deposits mainly located in the western and northwestern parts. The sandstones in the fan deposits are mostly from debris flows and turbidity currents. The dark, thick source rocks in the lake deposits are separated from the fan deposits by a sharp boundary, making them good reservoirs for oil.
