Plant growth impacts soil water distribution on Loess Plateau terrains.
Soil water levels in different terrains affect plant growth in Lanzhou suburb on the Western Loess Plateau. Shaded hillside soil has more water before seed germination. Southern mountains have better soil water than northern ones. After April, northern mountains have more water due to plant growth. Fish-scale pit and level-gouge help collect and maintain water, especially with plastic film. Terrace soil water on shaded hillside increases from outside to inside.
