Optimal nitrogen levels boost cotton yield in jujube intercropping system.
Different levels of nitrogen fertilizer were tested on cotton growth in jujube and cotton intercropping. Results showed that the amount of dry matter and nitrogen in cotton varied depending on the nitrogen level. Higher nitrogen levels led to increased biomass and nitrogen accumulation in the close crown areas of jujube, while lower levels had the opposite effect. The optimal nitrogen rate helped accelerate biomass and nitrogen accumulation, leading to better cotton yield. Excess or insufficient nitrogen application had negative effects on cotton growth.
