Organic fertilizer boosts winter wheat yield and nitrogen accumulation.
A study was done on how different types of fertilizers affect the growth of winter wheat. The researchers found that using organic fertilizer along with nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium led to a significant increase in wheat grain yield. When organic nitrogen was applied at 150 kg·hm-2 and chemical nitrogen ranged from 150 to 225 kg·hm-2, the yield reached 9000 kg·hm-2. Applying nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium also increased nitrogen accumulation in the wheat plants. To achieve high wheat grain yield in the Guanzhong area of Shaanxi province, it is recommended to apply nitrogen at a rate of 150 to 225 kg·hm-2 along with phosphorous, potassium, and organic fertilizer.
