Merchants from Anhui and Shanxi in ancient China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties had different ways of doing business. Anhui merchants focused on scholarly methods, while Shanxi merchants emphasized physical strength. Despite similar group structures, their business patterns and values were distinct.
