The water resources in Hubei Province face serious problems like pollution and water shortages. Most water is used for farming, but there's potential to save water there. Floods, waterlogging, and droughts are still big issues. The plan to transfer water from Dan Jiang Reservoir to the northern plain could worsen water quality in the middle of Han River. The old water management system doesn't work well with the new market economy. To solve these problems, strategic aims and countermeasures have been proposed for sustainable water use in Hubei Province in the early 21st century.
