Forest landscape in Aoshang Town shifts dramatically towards Chinese fir dominance.
The study analyzed changes in the forest landscape of Aoshang Town from 2004 to 2007 using forest inventory data. They identified eight landscape types and found that Chinese fir and young plantation areas increased significantly, while broad-leaved and pine forest areas decreased. Chinese fir became the dominant landscape in 2007, leading to reduced diversity. The study also showed an increase in forest fragmentation and a decrease in heterogeneity, indicating a shift towards more uniform and regular forest patterns.
