Yellow soil components in China impact cadmium adsorption, affecting water quality.
The study looked at how different types of yellow soil affect the absorption and release of cadmium in Mingshan Watershed, China. They found that soil components like organic matter and iron oxide play a big role in how cadmium is absorbed. Removing organic matter reduced absorption more than removing iron oxide. The type of soil also affected how cadmium was released. Tea garden and dry land soils released less cadmium compared to woodland and paddy fields. Overall, the study shows that soil composition influences how cadmium interacts with the environment.
