Rapid Urbanization Transforms Jiangsu, Reshaping Population, Land, and Economy
The article explores how Jiangsu Province in China is developing in terms of city growth, land use, and economic progress. They argue that urbanization involves more than just people moving to cities – it's also about how land and the economy change. By looking at data from 1998 to 2009, they show that Jiangsu is urbanizing quickly and in a balanced way. As time goes on, the city, land, and economy are growing together more smoothly. Different factors drove this change at different times, but overall, Jiangsu is doing well in coordinating its urban development. In 2009, their overall urbanization and coordination were rated highly, showing good progress across the province.
