The study looked at the different types of rocks in Shawan Formation 2 in Chunguang area using seismic data. They used a combination of well data and scanning to understand the rock layers and how they were formed. The rocks in Shawan Formation 2 were found to be from a fan delta-underwater fan environment. There are five main types of rock layers, including fan delta plain, fan delta front, pro-fan delta, slope fan, and basin floor fan. The slope fan and basin floor fan are particularly important for finding oil and gas reserves.
