The study looked at income inequality in Beijing from 1985 to 2007. They found that urban-rural income inequality has been decreasing overall, but there were significant increases after 1993. From 2003 to 2007, the inequality started to decrease slowly. The research also showed that rural residents have less income inequality compared to urban residents.
