This study looked at how 30 companies in the Shanghai Stock Market decide on the mix of debt and equity they use to run their businesses. By looking at real companies, they learned how firms choose between using loans or selling parts of their company to raise money. The researchers found that having the right balance of debt and equity is important for companies to grow well in the stock market.
