Forest diversity thrives as pine forests decline in Nanwan Forest Farm.
The Nanwan Forest Farm landscape was studied from 1989 to 1999 to see how it changed over time. They looked at different types of land use and the main types of trees. The researchers used fractal dimension and other indices to analyze the changes. They found that the forest area decreased, but the diversity of the forest increased. Pine forests decreased, while cunninghamia forests increased. The main trees in the forest also changed during this time period.
