The article analyzes how independent innovation affects the development of the forestry industry in China from 1985 to 2007. Using various statistical methods, the researchers found a stable long-term relationship between independent innovation and forestry industry growth. Independent innovation causes changes in the forestry industry in the long run, but not in the short term. When the forestry industry grows, independent innovation responds strongly, but the forestry industry doesn't respond as much to changes in independent innovation. The study suggests policy recommendations based on these findings.
