Polluted Weihe River Valley Threatens Millions in Shaanxi, Urgent Action Needed
Non-point source pollution from agriculture is a major cause of environmental pollution today. A study in the Weihe River valley in Shaanxi district identified key sources of pollution in 2005, including water and soil erosion, fertilizer use, sewage, animal waste, and agricultural film. The study revealed the extent of agricultural pollution in the region. To address this, a strategy for controlling non-point source pollution was proposed, focusing on promoting green agriculture.
