The researchers calculated the Water Environmental Capacity (WEC) of five water systems in Jiangxi using NH3-N and COD indicators. Overall, the water quality is good, with most sections having leftover WEC. Some areas have serious pollution, especially with NH3-N reaching capacity. To prevent future pollution, strict control plans are needed, especially for COD, due to population growth and economic development.
