Henan Province Faces Ecological Crisis Due to Dominance of Farm Land.
The study analyzed the landscape patterns of land use in Henan province using GIS and remote sensing techniques. The main findings show that most of the land in Henan is used for farming, followed by construction and forest land. Forests are mainly found in the mountains, while urban areas are scattered throughout the province. Different areas have varying levels of landscape diversity, dominance, fragmentation, and evenness. The highlands and mountains have higher diversity and evenness, while the plains have higher dominance. The transitional zones between mountains and plains have higher fragmentation due to human activities. Overall, the study suggests the need for better land resource management and ecological protection in Henan province, especially in vulnerable areas.
