Remote sensing predicts decline in farmland and rise in construction land.
The researchers used satellite images and maps to study how the land in a nature reserve in Anhui province changed over 25 years. They found that unused land, construction land, grassland, forest land, and cultivated land were most affected. By using a special model, they predicted that construction land and forest land will increase, while grassland, farmland, water, and unused land will decrease in the next 20 years. This study helps us understand how the land in the area is changing and what might happen in the future.
