The article reviews the history of American industrialization, which is important for developing countries to modernize. America had the largest industrial system and followed a typical path of industrialization. The author divided American industrialization into three phases based on changes in industry and income per person: light industrialization, heavy industrialization, and technology-focused industrialization. This study helps outline how America became a major economic power.
