Soil moisture levels reveal best crops for sustainable farming practices.
The study analyzed soil moisture changes in different types of land. Soil moisture increased then decreased with depth, and varied significantly between land types. Corn land had the highest moisture, followed by alfalfa, fallow, and bare land. Soil moisture changed seasonally in three stages: stable, consumption, and replenishment. The soil moisture variation decreased with depth, with three layers identified: active, sub-active, and stable.
