Qiandao Lake Faces Pollution Crisis as Upstream Rivers Contribute 50% of Contaminants
A study on the Qiandao Lake found that the water quality is generally good, but some areas are getting more polluted over time. Most of the pollution comes from non-point sources, with half of it coming from rivers in Anhui Province. The lake's trophic status is moving towards a mesotrophic level. A model was created to predict water quality, and suggestions were made to protect the lake's water quality.
