Mouth-bar formation in Minjiang River mouth impacts sediment movement.
The Chuanshi Channel in the Minjiang River mouth has a unique inner mouth-bar where ebb currents change to flood currents. Factors like bifurcation and tide mixing weaken hydrodynamic conditions near the mouth. Sediment movement is active, causing erosion and accretion below the middle tidal level. The mouth-bar is made up of two connected shoals, Neisha shoal, with different formation processes.
