Potassium-rich fertilizer boosts sunflower yield by 10%, revolutionizing agriculture.
The study looked at how sunflowers absorb and use potassium from fertilizer to improve their growth. They found that sunflowers take up the most potassium at the end of flowering, with stems and leaves showing a similar pattern. Using potash fertilizer increased sunflower yield by 10%, with potassium boosting yield by 7.17 kg per kilogram. The best potassium absorption rate was seen with optimal treatment, while the distribution of potassium in the plant changed as it grew. Overall, sunflowers absorbed 73.9 kg of potassium to produce 1 ton of sunflower.
