New study reveals soil moisture distribution patterns for optimized sampling.
The study analyzed soil water variability in Guiyang experiment base using statistical and GIS technology. Soil moisture data followed a normal distribution, with a moderate level of variation. Soil water content ranged from 10.65 to 21.82. Kriging interpolation showed a clear pattern of soil water content distribution, with levels decreasing from the sides to the middle. Soil water content had a strong negative relationship with slope but a positive relationship with elevation levels 4 and 5. The East slope had the highest distribution of soil water levels, followed by the Northeast slope.
