Breakthrough Technique Unlocks Potential for Porcine Oocyte Cryopreservation, Revolutionizing Livestock Breeding.
Researchers studied different methods to improve the freezing of pig eggs. They tested different freezing solutions and techniques, finding that one solution was less harmful to the eggs. Using a specific freezing method called OPS resulted in higher survival and maturation rates compared to other methods. Adding certain chemicals or spinning the eggs didn't help survival rates but did lower the ability of the eggs to divide. Overall, using OPS alone led to some eggs being able to develop into early embryos after freezing.
