The article tested different trading rules for predicting the Chinese stock market. They found that using technical trading rules can be helpful for predicting the trends in the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets. However, using information from the Hong Kong stock market to predict the Chinese market didn't work as well because the two markets are quite separate.
