Reclaimed farmland shows low soil carbon levels, impacting crop yield.
The study looked at how soil organic carbon levels vary in a reclaimed sandy farmland in a specific region. They found that the content of soil organic carbon ranged from 2.66 to 6.90 g·kg-1, with an average of 4.45 g·kg-1. The soil organic carbon was influenced by factors like total nitrogen, available nutrients, and soil pH. The study also found that the annual change in soil organic carbon was not significant, and it was lower than the regional average. The spatial variability of soil organic carbon was mainly affected by factors like soil parent material and geography. The study suggests that more long-term monitoring is needed to understand how soil management practices affect soil organic carbon levels in reclaimed farmland.
