Chemical fertilizers boost garlic yields in Ledu County, but excess harms.
The study looked at how different types and amounts of fertilizer affected the yield of garlic in Ledu county. They found that increasing chemical fertilizer amounts initially increased garlic yields, but too much fertilizer actually decreased yields. Phosphate fertilizer had the biggest impact on garlic bulb yield, followed by nitrogen and potash fertilizers. Using a combination of nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium fertilizers together improved garlic bulb yield. The best economic benefit and highest garlic bulb yield were achieved with specific amounts of nitrogen, P2O5, and K2O fertilizers.
