New plant growth regulator boosts maize growth and nitrogen absorption efficiency.
A new plant growth regulator called PKN was tested on maize plants with different levels of nitrogen. The study found that nitrogen supply increased plant height, root length, and nitrogen absorption in the plants. The use of PKN also increased plant dry weight and nitrogen content by promoting the growth of lateral roots. With low and medium nitrogen levels, PKN treatment significantly boosted nitrogen absorption rates. Overall, the research suggests that PKN can enhance nitrogen absorption efficiency in maize plants under nitrogen-deficient conditions.
