Rural Drinking Water Quality in Guilin City Below Safety Standards
The study analyzed drinking water quality in Guilin City from 2008 to 2011. Out of 2,020 water samples tested, 66.29% were found to be of good quality. Urban areas had a higher rate of good quality water (87.78%) compared to rural areas (26.72%). The main reasons for poor water quality were unqualified microbial indicators and free chlorine levels. To improve water quality, it is important to monitor rural water sources, maintain urban pipelines, and ensure proper disinfection systems are in place.
