Flax seedling drought resistance boosted by CAT enzyme activity discovery.
Flax seedlings were studied under drought stress using PEG simulation. Different flax varieties showed varying growth responses to different PEG concentrations. The order of drought resistance in the tested flax varieties was т-10, Ariane, Agatha, Heiya14, and Shuangya15. The enzyme activities related to drought resistance varied among the varieties, with CAT activity showing a linear increase in drought-resistant varieties. MDA levels were higher in drought-resistant varieties compared to drought-sensitive ones. Overall, the study found that different flax varieties have varying levels of drought resistance, with some enzymes playing a role in this resistance.
