Early Rescue ICSI Boosts IVF Success Rates, Offers Hope to Infertile Couples.
The study compared early and late intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in in vitro fertilization. Early ICSI, done 6 hours after fertilization, resulted in higher rates of good quality embryos and clinical pregnancies compared to late ICSI, done 20 hours after fertilization. The number of retrieved oocytes and fertilization rates were similar between the two groups. This suggests that early ICSI may be a better option for rescuing in vitro fertilization failures.
