Internet use behaviors predict addiction in university students, study finds.
The study looked at how internet use, internet self-confidence, and internet addiction are related in university students. They found that some students were addicted to the internet, with differences based on gender and grade. The more days students used the internet, played online games, made online transactions, and had online social interactions, the more likely they were to be addicted. Internet use behaviors can directly and indirectly influence internet addiction through self-confidence in using the internet. The study suggests ways to prevent and intervene in internet addiction.
