Baijiabao landslide in Three Gorges Reservoir area influenced by rainfall and water levels.
The Baijiabao landslide in the Three Gorges reservoir area showed prime creeping deformation before June 2007, then acute deformation in June. The landslide moved in a forward direction, with the front moving faster than the back. Cracks in the landslide matched its deformation, with more developed cracks in areas with greater displacement. Rainfall and reservoir water level were found to be the main factors influencing the seasonal displacement of the landslide, with factors like rainfall intensity and reservoir water level changes playing key roles in the rate of displacement.
