New disease-resistant rice variety boosts yields and quality in Guangdong.
A new high-quality rice variety called Shengshi A was developed in 2009 through crossbreeding and selection processes. It has good grain quality, high combining ability, disease resistance, and desirable agronomic traits. Shengshi A was officially identified in 2010 and its hybrids performed well in trials, leading to their release for commercial production in 2011.
