Dams Disrupt River Flows, Threaten Downstream Communities in Dalihe Basin
The researchers studied how human activities affected runoff and sediment in the Dalihe River Basin from 1960 to 2002. They divided the basin into three districts based on geography and established equations to predict runoff and sediment before human intervention. Comparing calculated and measured values showed that human activities influenced the variation of runoff and sediment in the basin.
