Gas emissions from deep coal seams in the Gengcun coal mine were causing safety concerns during mining. To address this, a new drainage system was implemented on fully mechanized coal faces. By combining high and low position drainage methods, including boreholes and tube insertion, gas drainage efficiency was significantly improved. This approach effectively reduced gas outbursts and utilized low-density gas efficiently. The use of high and low position bores not only minimized tunnel digging but also achieved good gas drainage results.
