A new type of rice called 8006A was created by crossing two different rice varieties. This new rice has stable male sterility, good grain quality, and produces a lot of hybrid seeds. The hybrids made with 8006A rice have strong resistance to falling over, high seed production, heavy grains, high grain yield, and good quality. The 8006A rice and its hybrids were approved for commercial production in Jiangsu Province in 2006.
