Soil type and humidity key factors in wetland vegetation distribution.
The researchers studied wetland vegetation in the Tian'ezhou Oxbows of the Yangtze River. They used TWINSPAN to classify 234 samples into 28 associations and DCA to show the relationship between plant communities and the environment. The main factors affecting wetland community structure were soil type and humidity. The TWINSPAN classification combined with DCA better showed how communities relate to environmental factors.
