New Study: Cucumber Roots Thrive in Salt and Alkali Mixed Stresses
Cucumber seedling roots were exposed to a mix of salt and alkali stress, and researchers found that the activities of certain enzymes and the levels of sugar and MDA increased. Specifically, when the roots were treated with 30mmol/L NaCl and 30mmol/L NaHCO3, there were significant differences in enzyme activities and sugar content compared to untreated roots. However, the MDA levels did not show significant changes. This study suggests that cucumber seedling roots can tolerate and grow in a mixture of 30mmol/L NaCl and 30mmol/L NaHCO3.
