Urban Runoff Pollutes Cities, Threatens Public Health
The study looked at the quality of water in urban runoff from Jiefang road in Xi'an city. They collected samples during two rainfalls and measured things like turbidity, COD, and ammonia levels. They found that pollutant levels were highest at the start of each rainfall and decreased over time. Factors like sunny days and runoff characteristics affected the pollutant levels. The research can help guide how urban runoff is managed.
