Revolutionizing Maize Farming: Boosting Yields and Efficiency with New Strategy.
The study tested a new way to manage nitrogen for growing maize, using soil tests to guide fertilizer application. After three years of trials in Shandong province, it was found that this approach increased maize yields by around 8%, while reducing nitrogen use by almost 45%. This led to improved nitrogen efficiency, with higher uptake and recovery rates. Overall, the new strategy resulted in better grain yield and value for the farmers.
