The researchers used advanced technology to predict soil erosion in the Qiankeng Reservoir basin in Shenzhen. They found that most of the area had slight to medium erosion, but a small portion had serious erosion. Despite covering a small area, the serious erosion contributed significantly to total soil loss. The study showed that crop management practices had a big impact on soil erosion, with the worst erosion found in the northeast mountain area. Overall, the study demonstrated that using 3S technologies with the USLE model can accurately predict soil erosion.
